BAKWAN KEPETING

This is a traditional Straits Chinese* soup served at weddings. But you don't have to be in one to taste this special delight. Bakwan Kepeting is finely cooked in our kitchen, brewed rightly with minced pork, crab and shrimp meat ball and bamboo shoots.

*Straits-born Chinese are known as "Peranakan" - the ladies are called "Nonyas" while the men are known as "Babas." They are the descendants of early Chinese settlers in the Straits Settlement of Penang, Malacca and Singapore.
